I’m an editor now, but much of my work in journalism has centered on writing and reporting. Lately, I’ve been contributing pieces about health issues to the International Weekly, a New York Times publication. Those pieces are here, along with others I’ve written over the past few years for internships, freelance work and jobs.
Lens: For the Autistic, a Chance for a Full Life
The New York Times: International Weekly | Feb. 17, 2012
The International Weekly is a supplement for newspapers around the globe highlighting the week’s best New York Times stories. I wrote this column, about employment opportunities for autistic people, for the weekly Lens feature, which looks between the lines of Times stories to discover new trends.

Sunshine State News | May 1, 2010
As Florida’s 2010 lawmaking session wound down, spirits didn’t seem as high as usual. The Atlanta Jewish Times | Dec. 8, 2009
When you work at a bookstore, as I did for nearly seven months after graduating college, you’re privy to gossip about publishing. Falling for Goats: Local man raises rare goat breed
The Independent Florida Alligator | April 1, 2008
One night at The Alligator, the student paper at the University of Florida, a friend showed me a funny YouTube clip about goats that “faint” when startled. Intrigued, I researched the animals and learned there was a fainting goat ranch nearby, so I contacted its owner and asked if I could write a story about it. The resulting article remains a favorite.
